Company's History
The Maschinenfabrik Stingl was founded in 1969 by Maximilian Stingl, its managing director. At his parents' sawmill Maximilian Stingl learnt the sawing trade early on and subsequently trained as a mechanical engineer. When he founded the company, barely 22 years old, he first set up the facilities in Guttaring.
The machine park was state-of-the-art by the standards of the time. With about ten employees, the company began building mechanised plants for sawmills.
In 1974 Maximilian Stingl married Edith, who has been in charge of accounting since then. Their four children, Max-Georg, Edith-Marie, Heidemarie and Wolfgang, all grew up with the company. The first three children have independently managed the Stingl timber plants since 2004, which were founded by Maximilian and Edith Stingl in 1976. Their son Wolfgang, who graduated from a polytechnical school, has been active in design and construction for several years and is expected to take over the machine factory in future.
In 2005 the machine factory was expanded and remodelled accordingly, now boasting over 4,000 sq. m. of production facilities with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. Given our expanding number of employees, we are able to supply larger wood-manufacturing companies with innovative, customised plants and machinery.
